Regenerative medicine · Abu Dhabi

We form living tissue.

From a preserved, renewable cell source to organoids that grow, fold and function. The genesis layer of regenerative medicine.

The name is the method.

tissue formation

Formation. Genesis. The act of bringing into being – the same root, k-w-n, that gives kawn, the cosmos, and ʿilm al-takwīn, embryology.

TAKWYN forms living tissue from cells: from a preserved, renewable starting point to structures that grow, fold and function. We work at the layer below therapy, where tissue is made.

Building in Abu Dhabi, on governed access to biological material, genomic data and GMP pathways.

Four pillars, one starting point.

02 / Platform
01

iPSC Reprogramming

Induced pluripotent stem cell lines derived from preserved biological material, then expanded, characterised and cryobanked. One donor, one genome, one line, many tissues.

02

Brain Organoids

Standardised cortical organoids for neural modelling today, with neural repair as the long-horizon goal. Built for genome-linked cohorts rather than single lines.

03

Liver Organoids

Patient-matched hepatic tissue for metabolism and toxicity work, moving toward functional cell therapy. Paired with the neural line from the same donor.

04

Mitochondrial Therapy

Augmentation and transplantation of healthy mitochondria: a mechanism central to ageing, neurodegeneration and metabolic disease, and a route to restoring cellular energy.

Genomes are read. We make them functional.

04 / Infrastructure

The region has invested at national scale in reading the genome. The layer that is still missing is functional: living human tissue in which a genome can be tested, not only described.

TAKWYN is built around that layer, in Abu Dhabi, close to the biological material, the data and the regulatory pathway rather than at a distance from them.
